Rest in Peace, Nik...

"My musical journey started back in 2004, where I was just probably still a slob, had no directions and was still a stressful kid".

I was so stupid back then, but that is to be expected because I did not receive any education about it at all - about guitars and musical instruments.






















For the longest time in my life, I had this thought - a funny one actually.

You know as kids, you see and perhaps you'll only see electric guitars on TV, played by a certain people in the society called musicians or entertainers.

Just Blink 182 performing.

I chose this band because, it was the time when I started playing

the guitar and I learnt their songs first.

Ahhh the sweet memories..

And guess what, I was so stupid that time. Unless you're raised by a family of musicians, you will never know the origin or any shit about guitars - like me. To an extent where I thought you some sort of license to own one.

How noob and stupid of me..

But it was until I have met this friend of mine, Nik Hanif, who owned electric guitars, plays them (he's really good at it) educated me on music and guitars when I just moved to Puchong. It was a historic moment that one day, out of nowhere, he invited me to his place and check his guitar out.

I was stunned, I was excited, I was happy, just like a baby. That particular moment back in 2004 really felt like you have found a long lost pillow that you loved and needed; the one you had when you were a baby.

That time, I didn't feel like I have found an extension of myself yet. But Nik and Andrew; both

my schoolmates that time really helped me - they shaped my playing style, pushed me to improve

my playing and helped me discover different genres.

Alas, I am who I am thanks to them; especially Nik.

Of course the one who triggered me to take a liking for guitars is my cousin, but as it seemed, he did not want to share much I guess.. He was also doing it for fun.

Little that I know, I became better.

All because thanks to Nik.

He owned one nearly exactly like this if my memory serves me right.

It was different, it was awesome, and it was the first ever electric guitar which I have held and played.

It was so stunning to see Nik played Metallica and other tunes to it.

"I want to be able to play too",
that was what I told myself.

KONSERT WINGS DAN SEARCH - DOUBLE TROUBLE

Yes, ia benar!! Search dan Wings akan perform kat DOUBLE TOUBLE DECEMBER 2010 ini!!!! I will give you all all the infos later yaw, as it is also a part of my job to actually promote this with you guys!
Any how, DATANG JANGAN TAK DATANG!!!!!

Kini, persoalan siapakah yang lebih hebat diantara dua rock gergasi tanahair iaitu Search dan Wings tiada lagi dipertikaikan.  Mereka telah berjaya mencipta sejarah kehebatan beraksi di atas pentas serta memiliki legasi muzik mereka tersendiri.    Dua kumpulan rock lagenda, Search dan Wings bakal disatukan sekali lagi di dalam Konsert Gemuruh DT dengan sokongan serta kerjasama padu dari pihak DiGi!  Suntingan perkataan ‘Gemeruh’ telah dipetik dari kehebatan lagu tema konsert Double Trouble yang berjudul ‘Gemuruh’.  Manakala DT pula dari singkatan Double Trouble.  Maka terlahirlah, Konsert Gemuruh DT!</span>
<span>Lantaran pengaruh dari peminat-peminat rock tanahair yang masih utuh, disatukan kembali kehebatan dua kumpulan gergasi rock ini beraksi di atas pentas yang sama.  Konsert Gemuruh DT diinspirasi berdasarkan album duet Search dan Wings berjudul Double Trouble yang telah diterbitkan disekitar tahun 1992.  Gabungan mantap mereka menerusi lagu Gemuruh iaitu lagu tema buat peminat Double Trouble telah melayakkan mereka menerima anugerah platinum berkembar atas kejayaan album tersebut yang telah terjual sebanyak 180,000 unit sekitar tahun 1992.</span>
<span>Tanggal 1hb Mei, 2010 bertempat di stadium tertutup Mont Kiara, suatu sejarah ‘Rock and Roll’ telah pun tercipta!  Konsert Double Trouble yang telah dinanti-nantikan selama 17 tahun oleh peminat-peminat setia mereka muncul kembali!  Gabungan tenaga yang hebat serta menakjubkan dari Search dan Wings telah memukau lebih dari 20,000 peminat-peminat yang hadir.  Dengan kejayaan luar dari dugaan itu telah mengundang pihak penganjur untuk membawa Konsert Double Trouble ke Johor Baru pada 5hb Jun, 2010.  Seperti yang telah dijangkakan, Konsert Double Trouble menerima sambutan yang begitu hebat sekali dari peminat-peminat mereka.  Ternyata kehadiran Search dan Wings telah berjaya mengubati kerinduan mereka selama ini!  </span>
<span>Konsert Gemuruh DT akan bermula di Tapak Ekspo, Seberang Jaya, Penang pada 18hb Disember, 2010.  Pasti ribuan peminat-peminat Search dan Wings di sebelah utara sudah tidak sabar lagi menunggu kehadiran dua kumpulan rock tersohor ini beraksi di atas pentas yang sama.  Fenomena muzik rock akan terus memuncak lagi pada tarikh 25hb Disember, 2010 di Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon.  Sejarah muzik tempatan akan tercipta sekali lagi kerana DT artis merupakan dua kumpulan rock tempatan pertama diberikan penghormatan mengadakan konsert tersendiri di Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon.  </span>
<span>Konsert Gemuruh DT dijadualkan berlangsung selama dua jam setengah.  Dengan kehebatan dua legenda rock, pencinta muzik dapat menyaksikan persembahan hebat mereka menerusi lebih 20 lagu hits yang dipersembahkan Search dan Wings. Pastinya, Search tidak akan ketinggalan melagukan lagu-lagu hebat mereka yang malar segar seperti Fantasia Bulan Madu, Isabella, Pawana, Fenomena, Meniti Titian Usang, Opera Hidup, Derap Komando dan banyak lagi.</span>
<span>Sementara Wings tidak akan menghampakan peminat mereka dengan lagu-lagu popular seperti Teori Domino, Pentas Opera, Peronda Jaket Biru, Rock ‘n’ Roll Lu Punya Suka, Sejati, Taman Rashidah Utama dan Bernafas Dalam Lumpur.</span>
<span>Konsert Gemuruh DT dianggap sebagai penyatuan semula dua kumpulan legasi rock yang telah pun bertahan melebihi dua dekad.  Saingan yang hebat dengan kemunculan kumpulan-kumpulan rock yang jauh lebih muda dan bertenaga tidak sesekali mematahkan semangat mereka untuk terus berjuang di persada seni.  Search dan Wings tetap unggul di hati peminat-peminat mereka yang setia.</span>
<span>Tanggal 25hb Disember, 2010, merupakan ‘finale’ Konsert Gemuruh DT sebagai penutup tirai tahun 2010! RYE Production mengambil kesempatan keemasan ini untuk memberi penghormatan dan penghargaan kepada dua kumpulan rock legenda tanahair.  Kami amat berbangga sekali dapat bekerjasama dengan mereka dan ingin mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada pihak Digi kerana sudi menaja persembahan Konsert Gemuruh DT.  Begitu juga kepada pihak Sunway Lagoon dan penaja-penaja yang lain.</span>
<span>Dengan gabungan dua kumpulan rock ternama ini, kami ingin mengimbas kembali kenangan manis zaman kegemilangan muzik rock tempatan yang ditujukan khas kepada peminat-peminat mereka.  Akhir kata, kami mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada semua pihak-pihak yang terbabit di dalam pengendalian Konsert Gemuruh DT.  </span>

My Acknowledgements, My Idols..

Here are a bunch of people whom I admire alot in my life so far. They are people that give me big influence in my life, my fashion, my music style, and many more -- including my way of speaking. Don't get me wrong as in I'm trying to be like them or what, it is just that these people gave me the most impacts of my life and that they are people whom I will remember always.
They are the people that I would perhaps recognize until my last breath; for they have fed my soul and make me as I am today. So here are the countdowns.

1 - Mr Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big, Racer X

 

So here it is. The person whom I called my 'uncle', who is one of the best guitarist in this planet if you all do not know. He plays in a popular band called Mr. Big - specifically who sang "I'm the one who wants to be with you~~", and to those guitarist out there, I really recommend you this - listen to him!! Yes, I have not meet him before(and will never perhaps...), but from what I heard, he is a very, very down to earth person, very humble, funny and a very cool person. I met some who had meet him in person before, and thats what they said. I could only at least wish to shake his hands and take a picture with him, and I'll be ready to die. Haha! Still, this person is the one who always make most of my days, and he is the one who drives me more and more...and more to become one of Malaysia's legendary guitarist. 

Thank you god for letting me know him.

2 - Khairul S. of Khairul S., DBS and Temjin.

Yes Syuk, you finally appear in my blog. This Sabahan is the craziest ass I've seen around. Crazy as in IN music i suppose. He, for me is a great guy, a great musician whom I envy with most of the time, but never stops to amaze me. He loves soul, funk, blues and all those craps you all know out there. Don't call him Jason Mraz, because he hates him, but has the same taste I suppose. Still, his songs are cool, catchy and you can get them from him in hand. Support him, as he is a great artist himself in terms of composing, performing and singing! He is also the vocalist for my band, TEMJIN. He also has a funk rock(I think) band called Dahlia By The Stairs(DBS), as his role is the lead guitarist in that band. Here's his link to his wonderful music - http://www.facebook.com/khairulsmusic

3 - Sugizo of Luna Sea

If it weren't because of Adzim, I would not have known this guy called Sugizo, who plays in a band called Luna Sea. Thus, he also entered X Japan recently and has a powergroup with Yoshiki(X Japan), Gackt(ex Malice Mizer) and Miyavi(NOT MIYABI) called S.K.I.N. (am I missing a person?)

In Luna Sea, he plays songs...how do I say it? Most of Luna Sea's songs are melodic and good. He plays the lead guitar solo in Luna Sea, and he can also plays the violin. He is one of the person whom I 'fell in love' with because of the sound he produces. He also acted in a fantasy movie a few years ago called Soundtrack. Enjoy him, as I also recommend Luna Sea to sooth your hearings..and I mean their slow songs.

4 - Adzim of TEMJIN

 Yes Zim, you are also in my blog. This guy...is also nearly as crazy as my friend above, Syuk but in a more different way. He plays the bass in Temjin, and the reason and we all agree that he is the leader and the 'root' of Temjin is because he's the person who came up with all the ideas which are crazy and unique for the band. He's a fashion guy, and I also believe that he is quite a random guy as well. Without knowing him, I may not be who I am today...as he is the person who invites me to join his band in 2006, on a romantic scene of the lake inside UiTM Melaka....dammit! Thank you Zim!!

5 - Members of L.O.V.E - League of Very Extraordinary

Ok I know this sounds wrong, but this is actually a stupid group with a stupid name where the members are also a bunch of crazy people in it -- including me. The members are Rudi, Pakwan a.k.a. Dekyam and Max.

Why are they important? Because they are the guys whom I can befriend with and would perhaps need them most of the time. No as gays, but as partners of all time. 

They are fun people to hang out with...NO! THEY ARE NUTS! Getting drunk or not does not matter to us because we can turn any crap into something funny and memorable...okay I don't know what am I talking about.

STILL!, for all the times I had with them, it was flawless guys. Thank you.

There may be more people whom I acknowledge in my life. These are just the persons whom I always see and spent time with (except the guitar fellas) most of the time. Even my family are important to me. This is merely my opinions on these peoples. I thought I would want to do a 10 people rankings, but I think it would be rediculous. Like I have stated before in my earlier post, this blog is basically my diary, which I would love to share with people on what information I got and the latest of my feelings.

Then again, do not think it is rediculious, because I am not doing anything wrong here. (-    -)"

My band is Temjin.

 Yes. You didn't see it wrong. My band's name is Temjin. Here, I will try my best to provide the latest news of my band's activities (and perhaps some songs for you people to download ^^)

TEMJIN was formed in November 2009, originated from the idea of Adzim, who is the bassist and Daus the guitarist. in the year 2006, they founded Adam, the lead guitarist in the same college as Adzim and formed Grave~en~Crie. Not long after that, Khairul S. joined the band as the rhythm guitar, as Daus was the drummer of the band before.

Grave~en~Crie had a vocalist named Azfar before, in which he left due to his attention for his studies. Then, a female vocalist came in and thats when the band name changed to GEMINI. In mid 2009, Khairul S. decided to be the vocalist for the band, and Adam suggested the name TEMJIN.

The band is influenced by various kinds of rock musics, from metal to blues and jazz. Japanese music - both pop and rock has also been a major influence to the band in terms of song writing and playing. Some great bands like Luna Sea, L'arc~en~Ciel, Mucc, Acid Black Cherry, Gazette, Avenged Sevenfold, Nirvana, BECK, Detroit Metal City, Mr Big, Acidman, Tokyo Jihen and many more has been the band's influence from each of the band member. The band dreams to bring a whole new kind of music feel to its audience across the whole country.

Ok. Basically we all love all kinds of music. It's hard to explain what kind of genre we are, but like Adzim said, the genre we would like to bring is Cheetah Rock. Now how do I explain that?
